How do I recover money I paid to a 3rd party collections company?

Last year I took out a loan with a payday company, the check bounced (I know it's not good). Well I got a call from a 3rd party collections company named CPS (check processing services). I setup payment arrangements and was glad that I had cleared it up. Well I got a call in the spring from a lawyer saying that he was calling because the payday loan company was going to sue for the bounced check. I explained the situation and I contacted the loan company, they told me that CPS was a company that used to handle the payments for them but not anymore because they were pocketing the money.
I just got a call this morning from an arbitration firm who told me that it was never taken and that I have to pay even more money. Is there anything I can do to CPS to get my money back?

If you have a receipt that you paid that place or a canceled check than send this payday place a copy of it and tell them it was paid in full and you will not be repaying

They can not make you pay twice and IF the place takes you to court than you take your receipt or canceled check and show the judge.

something like this happened with me with GE Money Bank NEVER get any type credit through them they are crooks too
