My college gives us Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off.

They also give us Labor day and the day after off which amounts to a full week of class. It also ensures that monday-wed-fri classes lose the same amount of class time as the tues-thurs section classes. Though it may not be necessarily the same for your college.
