What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions?

I know Thanksgiving is still over 3 months away...but I love Thanksgiving. It isn't just about all the good food...it is the feeling I have in my heart. I love spending time with my family and just knowing that Christmas is just around the corner....I love it!!! My family has some special traditions we do every year. All of my family live close together so we have 1 huge family dinner. So my mom, my sister, my in-laws, and myself always cook several dishes. We discuss ahead of time what we are going to cook so everyone cooks something different. On Thanksgiving morning, I wake up really early and began my cooking. While the food is cooking, my daughter who is 3 and I watch The Macy's Day Parade...while we let my husband sleep in late...that is his favorite part!! Then, we get cleaned up and dressed nicely. We then all meet at one house for the huge dinner...we discuss ahead of time whose house in the family we are going to eat at. Then we have our dinner...which there is always so much good food....we all have left overs to take home that night. We then just spend time together. The kids play while we sit and talk. It is the simple life...but we love it. Then my husband, daughter, and I come home and watch a Christmas movie together. By then I love to see how excited my daughter gets about Christmas. Please...I would love to hear all of your special traditions. Please share.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. (But Christmas will always have a special place in my heart.)

My family comes over to my house, and my cousins and I watch a movie and wait for my parents (I'm a college student) to finish cooking. I'll snatch a carrot stick or an olive here and there. :)

Afterward, my family will sit around the table for a few hours and talk about anything and everything, usually politics, sports, or local news.

We exchange a few presents (presents for Thanksgiving, I know, but I only get one or two), and my family leaves.

After that, my parents, my sisters, and I hang up Christmas decorations (after taking the Thanksgiving ones down). Christmas season always starts RIGHT after Thanksgiving for me. :)
